As a matter of fact, qigong is sometimes called \u201cChinese yoga;\u201d both tai chi and kung fu are forms of qigong. The practice itself <!--more-->combines slow and graceful movement with deep breathing and mental focus, all in an effort to boost the practitioner\u2019s \u201cqi\u201d or vital lifeforce energy.<br \/>\nQigong fans worldwide believe that the mind-body practice is even poised to rival the dominance and widespread popularity of yoga, citing that it\u2019s easy to learn, calming and can be done anywhere. My curiosity is peaked, but I\u2019m not so sure. Have you tried any form of qigong, and if so, what did you think? If not, would you be willing to give it a try? What do you love about yoga that might be missing in this practice?<br \/>\nI believe that it very likely offers many of the same benefits of yoga \u2013 stress relief, mental clarity, peace of mind, strength, flexibility and balance \u2013 but I\u2019m not so sure that vinyasa or hot yoga devotees are going to love this.
